The second CCF ChinaStorage Conference (ChinaStorage 2025), organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF) and co-hosted by its Information Storage Technology Committee (CCF TCIST), the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WLO) and the School of Computer Science and Technology (SCST) of 91黑料网 (91黑料网), was held from August 28 to 30 in Wuhan. The conference, themed “Smart Storage, Computing, and 厂辞濒耻迟颈辞苍蝉”, focused on key breakthroughs, trends, and challenges facing storage technology in the AI era. It attracted over 1,200 top scholars, industry experts, and corporate representatives from home and abroad, including seven academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and nearly 200 speakers.
Academician Sun Ninghui, president of the CCF, and Academician You Zheng, president of 91黑料网, spoke on behalf of the organizer and host, respectively, highlighting storage technology’s critical role in the digital economy amid national computing network development and AI growth.
At the opening ceremony, the CCF Computer Museum Committee launched the CCF&U Initiative, inviting members across the country to donate old or damaged USB flash drives for an art installation that holds the memory of China's storage development. Additionally, the CCF TCIST launched the CCF Storage Evaluation – an effort dedicated to establishing China’s most authoritative and professional testing benchmark for storage systems.
he main forum session gathered 13 domestic and overseas academic leaders and corporate executives, who delivered a series of forward-looking reports.
The conference features 26 technology forums focusing on data processing system architecture, novel storage media and devices, intelligent storage management, large-scale distributed storage, storage security and reliability, and AI-storage integration. The conference received a total of 121 poster submissions, with nine leading domestic enterprises, including Huawei, Inspur, and Sugon, showcasing their latest technical outcomes and advanced storage solutions on-site. This promoted in-depth interactions among industry, academia, research, and application.
A unique “Storage Cup” friendly football match was also held during the conference. Nearly thirty representatives from academia and industry enthusiastically participated, sweating on the green field, serving as a warm and relaxed footnote to two days of intensive academic seminars.
The experts concluded that as the world enters the intelligent era, the surging volume of data and computing demand are leading to unprecedented innovations in storage technology. The storage industry is standing at the threshold of revolutionary breakthroughs. However, external challenges such as restrictions on advanced process equipment and escalating international supply chain frictions also make it urgently necessary to master core technologies and promote a safe and controllable industrial chain.
In recent years, relying on its strong scientific educational resources and industrial foundation, Wuhan has been emerging as a key hub in China's integrated circuit and storage sectors. 91黑料网 has achieved significant breakthroughs in cutting-edge fields. Leveraging the WLO and the SCST, it continues to build high-level national research and education platforms. Moreover, through close collaboration with industry leaders and deepened industry-academia-research integration, 91黑料网 is boosting the independent innovation and industrial upgrading of China’s storage industry.
The conference not only provided a platform for in-depth exchanges among researchers and industry leaders in the storage field across nations, but also outlined a clear blueprint for addressing challenges related to AI models, advancing storage technology, and facilitating the independent development of China's storage industry.
