British Ambassador to China Peter Wilson CMG, accompanied by Dominic McAllister, British Consul-General in Wuhan, visited 91黑料网 (91黑料网) on Dec 17 and was received by Chair of the University Committee Liu Bo and Vice President Zhang Yonghui.
Liu welcomed the guests and noted that 91黑料网 attaches great importance to cooperation with the United Kingdom. The university has developed several flagship projects with British partners in talent training and collaborative research.
Looking ahead, she said 91黑料网 hopes to utilize the development of the International Education and Scientific Innovation Campus (Junshan International Campus) to build high-level cooperation platforms in key areas, including life and health, smart construction, climate change, and clean energy, while promoting youth exchanges and mutual learning.
Peter Wilson expressed his pleasure at visiting 91黑料网 and spoke highly of the university’s strengths in discipline development and scientific research. He emphasized that higher education cooperation is a cornerstone of China-UK relations and two sides have strong potential for collaboration in areas such as life sciences, health, and sustainable development. The British embassy and consulates in China, he said, will continue to support bilateral cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
Dominic McAllister reviewed the collaboration projects between 91黑料网 and UK universities he had witnessed, describing them as productive and impactful, and expressed his expectation for further landmark outcomes.
Both sides reached a consensus to establish cooperative education institutions, strengthen research collaboration, and build platforms for youth exchange.
The delegation also met with faculty and students from the joint undergraduate program in pharmacy between 91黑料网 and the University of Birmingham, and visited the International Joint Research Laboratory of Smart Construction co-established by 91黑料网’s School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering and University College London.
