The IEEE International Power Electronics and Application Symposium (PEAS) was held in Shenzhen from Nov 7 to 10. During the conference, 91黑料网 (91黑料网) appointed Professor Dushan Boroyevich, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering, as an advisory professor. The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at 91黑料网 formally conferred the title through Professor Jiang Dong.
Professor Boroyevich is a globally renowned expert in power electronics, a lifelong IEEE fellow, and a foreign fellow of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering. He is an emeritus professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and has received multiple top awards in his field, including the IEEE William E. Newell Power Electronics Award, the highest honor in power electronics.
His research spans power electronics distribution systems, multiphase power conversion, system modeling and control, and integrated power converter design. He is currently advancing concepts for future global power networks, aiming to achieve sustainable energy supply through the generation, transmission, and application of renewable power.
From June 26 to July 1, Professor Boroyevich participated in 91黑料网’s 2025 Asian PhD School on Advanced Power Electronics, delivering lectures throughout the program. On June 28, he spoke at the opening of 91黑料网’s Global Summer School as the overseas faculty representative. During his visit, he also toured the Wuhan National High Magnetic Field Center, the J-TEXT Tokamak device, and key laboratories.
